Panhellenic Wing Eating Contest
In support of Arkansas Panhellenic, Zaxby’s on College Ave. held a wing eating contest on Tuesday, November 15, 2011. Each of the eight sororities on campus sent a representative to compete in the contest. Erin Moody, a sophomore member, volunteered to represent Pi Phi in the contest.
Before the contest began the girls each got to the wing sauces and choose which sauce they wanted for their wings. They were also offered free drinks to prepare themselves for the contest.
Five minutes before the contest began the marketing director at Zaxby’s explained that each girl would be given a pan of 15 wings in the sauce of her choice. The winner of the contest would be the first girl to finish all 15 of her wings.

“I choose teriyaki sauce,” said Erin, “But it might not have been a good decision because it was so thick and got everywhere.”
The first place winner received a $30 gift card to Zaxby’s and 15% of the proceeds from the night would be donated to the sorority that the winner was representing. The second place winner received at $20 gift card.
The Zeta Tau Alpha representative won first place finishing 15 wings in 2 minutes and 30 seconds. The Alpha Omicron Pi representative came in second place. All of the contestants received a free meal coupon for their next visit to Zaxby’s.
“I feel like I took a pretty good shot at those wings while wearing my Pi Phi angel wings!” said Erin.
